From its launch in 1991, New Europe Barometer survey questionnaires have included a variety of indicators of social capital and its use in getting things done in 17 post-Communist countries. In addition, dozens of NEB surveys have include questions about health as well as social capital, thus creating a distinctive data base for monitoring how individuals in societies in transformation have responded to shocks and opportunities.
